Were having to move AGAIN.
Cunts want 6 months rent up front.
We paid this initially but now they have a £1400 repair bill for the garage roof their wanting us to hand out a lump sum so they can get the repairs done, thinks I'm a dafty.
I even offered to do the work myself and save them over £400.
What a royal pain in the ass.
Just asked for the wee man to be relocated school wise too.
Apologies to our friends intending on joining us for dinner in a few weeks its a no go area now with all the packing etc...
We wont be out and about either for a while until we find somewhere suitable.
Good news though I start a new contract on Thursday.

I have never heard of a landlord asking for that much up front .
He will lose rent if you move, I am not sure all this is legial.
But I wish you good luck xxxx Edited 1 Feb 11, 5:14 PM by misstressclare

Beat me to that advice On the face if it this sounds all wrong. Any chance of a bit more info on your circumstances - tenancy agreement, housing status etc? On the other hand you may have decided that enough is enough and are going to go whatever

Hmmm sounds fishy indeed. Make sure you have your six months worth.
God's gift - but don't expect it instantly.

Yip we have, 6 months with a 2 months termination clause for both parties so the landlord is well within their right. They have stated what they require to keep the lease running we dont have £4500 lying around so its pack up and find somewhere else unfortunately. The landlord had no reason to ask for this other than to get the funds to pay for the repairs needed.

Unfortunately they can, 2 months notice is all they have to give and they dont need a reason. A simple repossesion order would be almost the same. Bottom line we would have to move out at somepoint and who wants to pay a landlord rent when their showing their true colours.

I'm afraid that I'm pretty sure this is true if it's a private landlord and a short tenancy. Landlords are arseholes.
I may be in the gutter, but I am looking at the bars. |
