It's not easy trying to organise filthy fun. Especially not when it involves more than two people, a weekend away, feeding people, providing booze and all the things that go with that.
Suddenly, you become a huge fan of Microsoft Project. You make lists. You obsessively check your google calendar, set up alerts, and have meetings, ping off emails, make changes, work on endless paperwork – and all so the something that you can create is the best it can possibly be. You sit at your computer at the weekend, looking at the screen until your eyes bleed, wondering what you have forgotten, what will go wrong and what you can do to minimize the risk. You *live* the event.
It's probably my own fault – trying to organise four away weekends simultaneously (even though one is ten months away), not to mention parties and individual days. Sometimes I do wonder why I bother with kinky events...
...but actually I know.
It's because I love people.
It's because I love to create a pure fantasy world where people can be debauched and hedonistic away from the confines of ordinary life.
It's because I love putting people together, to watch sparks fly, to match make, you get the vibe of a group.
It's because when I first started doing these, nobody else did the kinds of things I wanted to do. So I decided to organise them myself.
It's because I'm terrible at relaxing and like to have something to do at a party.
It's because it reminds me that I am actually capable of something good, something meaningful, that took a small amount of skill to make work.
It's because I love the feeling of ten minutes into the event, when it's all going well and the vibe in the air is one of lovely people having an amazing time.
It's because as me, I'm never sure if I'm interesting. Do the events make me more interesting? Probably. But I get to be me in a way that I never have any control in my real life.
It's because I like to create happiness.
That's not a bad aim for a life.
Isn't it?

Because you're brilliant at it? Because the people who come to the events love every moment of them, and marvel at how good they are? | |
