Either you have it or you don't.
Recent threads on male grooming and how to dress as a Dom have filled me with the usual combination of desperation and despair. On the one hand, the very idea that a man could havre reached adulthood without knowing about grooming is sad. On the other, the idea that clothes will somehow create a perfect Dom is risible.
After all, clothes do not make a man, and anyone can tog himself up in the 'right' clothes and still not look like he's done anything but spent a lot of money on trying to be something he's not. Sometimes people just look painfully uncomfortable in the best clothes, others look awesome in the most 'ordinary' clobber.
It is a truism that “you can't polish a turd”. Sometimes you just have to accept that you are that “turd” and get on with life.

You CAN polish a turd. I saw it on Mythbusters! And, I will have you know that petrified dinosaur poo (coprolite) is actually in high demand (and quite lovely when polished)!
Just thought you might like to know those two things. @Play_Space - next date is Sunday, February 20. Edited 24 Jan 11, 10:38 PM by Ama_Sidero

Something useful would be preferable! All I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by.

NB. Highlighting in bold by me I very rarely browse the web boards on IC, so missed those threads. However, what I'd like to say is that I didn't know there *is* a way a Dom should dress(?) Even with items such as the muir cap I thought it had to be awarded or somehow earned. I do, however, think that *not* dressing in a certain way can distinguish a Dom/me, even if only to avoid confusion. I am, of course, referring to not wearing collars or wrist cuffs etc.. |
