North West Events - New Group (13)

This post is on the Website help web board.

After a discussion with some other Event organisers one night it was suggested (again) that it would be beneficial for the organisers around the North West to meet up and get to know each other better. To start to talk to each other directly about proposed dates for their events, about date clashes, new event dates etc etc so that it all runs to everybody's best advantage whenever possible. Meeting face to face would be ideal but unrealistic, so creating a group seemed to be the best way to start. The North West scene is expanding and if enough of the people behind the scene start communicating with each other then it will thrive and benefit us all. A group of us also provides a forum for all sorts of possibilities to be discussed. It's not just about avoiding event clashes, or even personality clashes since not everyone will get on, but a place to combine business brains, ideas, joint promotions, even support if needed.

But first I need people. Business people and scene people and interested people who can see the possibilities of us working together. I need enough event/munch/party organisers/promoters and people with a vested interest in promoting the NW scene to subscribe to the group and briefly introduce themselves before I can get it started.

If this is of any interest to you then please subscribe to The NorthWestEvents Group. Thanks.

A big thanks to Julia for taking the idea on board and running with it.

This can do nothing but good in helping to avoid date clashes and ensure the North West Crowd have the maximum number of events on the biggest spread of nights.

And having just arranged our first permanant move of nights in nearly 7 years we know what a pain in the arse and pile of hassle it is to choose and establish a new date.

A big up to Cleric for having the balls to give a Friday a go.

All we need now is a way for someone to run an event on the fourth weekend that would compliment the KAGE and vice versa.

What a BRILLIANT idea..

Get all event organisers together, get them to talk so that there is no infighthing over punters money and minimal date clashes...

In theory it should work.. Nice one..

Good to see the spirit of co operation and 'community first' alive in the North West, especially in these difficult times.

Communication and a degree of working for a common purpose in the long run is the best way for the community to grow and prosper.

I have very fond memories of being involved in assisting the first Nemesis incarnation start events at the Victoria in Manchester and subsequent weekender which were the forerunner to the scene in the region as it is today.

Best Wishes to the group.

I am thinking of running a private house party night on the 4th Saturday in the month starting in March. Four play rooms, food , soft drinks etc .
