2 of the best posts I've seen on the site for a long time A man who views the world the same at fifty as he did at twenty has wasted thirty years of his life.

This. I'm not serious when we play, I laugh, I joke, I taunt as well as 'ouching' and telling him it's too much. I giggle and squirm and he laughs at me. Sometimes we play, other times we socialise, sometimes we even do both!!!! A club is an evening out for us. In my opinion if it's 'play' then it's supposed to be fun. I haven't a clue if I'd be allowed in a club reserved only for 'serious' players. I wouldn't not go because of it. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Ah - this from the expert ....
Rhoobarb - personally I am more attracted to "serious player" clubs as it means I can play harder without upsetting the "fluffy club". And there are plenty of clubs who are nothing more than a fashion show, with one spanking bench in the corner (being used as a bar stool). Doesn't matter to me if you're socialising, not in the mood to play, or just watching - all I need to know is that I can get the whips out without someone complaining to the DM that I'm disturbing their conversation by making too much noise. There are all sorts of clubs for all sorts of people - and I think the term "serious players" is a valid distinction. It's not about who it "excludes" - it's more about who it "includes" Ever wondered who the devil comes to for ideas ?

Presumably a really serious player would not be reading this as they would be doing serious BDSM things. I notice in the airfare scam profiles on CM often is the phrase serious masters or serious this or that.

I've only been to 2 fet niteclubs - one Ceasars and the other Dominion in Derby. Ceasars I (and the folk in our party) found too posey, too many watchers and not enough players Dominion won hands down because of the no pressure, laid back attitude, and knowing there is responsible DM's in there who knew the score. Terry had no problems with me using a camera because we both share the mutual respect and understanding of others. Been a while since I was last there...I blame that one way system...no...not a BDSM term....more of dodgy council route planning! Kinky regards, Fil

There are of course plenty of genuine people on CM but it seems to attract a few more scammers compared to other fetish sites. A clubslut is for life - not just for Christmas

Some of the most laughs I've had and heard have been in "serious" play clubs. To me the phrase means. I should expect less socailising, more playing, play at the edgier end of the spectrum, people who've been round the block a bit, people who respect the dress code without it being the all of their night, people who respect basic D/S ettiquette, solid kit and light touch Dungeon Monitoring. I think it's an expression of the difference between a fet night at a swinging venue, where the regulars are wearing black lingere and you might see some thigh boots and an Ann Summers flogger, and a BDSM club like Playspace, Ceasers or Sweet Torments (RIP)

The serious players have slipped away into the shadows, and Like myself, now only use IC to see if anything interesting, some new potentially aquireable character for example, should make an appearance. This is the price of the way the internet has broadcast aspects of what people seek. Certain characters have gone back to non trackable ways of the past.
