I was just playing with some buckyballs and I had a rather interesting idea. If one was to take a Neodymium magnetic sphere roughly the size of a golf ball and insert it inside the body, and then take an electromagnet and place it outside the body, one could move the internal magnet with the external one.
The only danger might be the difference in magnetism between the point at which the field kicked in and the sphere coming closer to the point of attraction leading to overly powerful magnetism for the intended purpose (which would be really bad,) would this be unworkable as a result?
If not, the old meme "fucking magnets, how do they work?" could take on a whole new meaning.

um...not sure how it translates to this...but the reason toys with magnets are not recommended for young kids is because some have actually died after swallowing/otherwise inserting magnets...then a second magnet cause the first to move with strong force which basically pulls it through membrane, organs etc and kills them. Obviously this would be slightly different but I strongly advise caution at least  Why be difficult, when with little bit of effort you can be impossible? |

I think that would be a bad idea, especially with a neodymium magnet of that size. The insides of a human are squishy and would offer little resistance to a pair of powerful magnets. |
