Thanks to everyone who's answered seriously. I admit the post was flippant but it's produced some really well considered, interesting replies. I'm always considering different events to run at my place and the question of Masters and female subs arose once. However it was soon dismissed as it's an area I know so little about that I couldn't possibly have the skills, connections, knowledge and passion to make it work. But the right person for the job can make anything work in my experience and I was genuinely curious if the right person had succeeded yet and how. It sounds to me that the upmarket approach mentioned is the answer and I wish them every success. ( Then if any Masters around Manchester want to copy their ideas and hold their own version in my Dungeon then they only have to ask. And pay rent. LOL ) Mistress Julia Pink www.themanchesterdungeon.com

Would be great to have a FemDom evening, with female submissives only, I would come " The only way to get rid of temptation is to yield to it. Resist it
and your soul grows sick with longing, for the things it has forbidden
itself"

FUCK NO! Have you seen how scary those Fem Dommes are? There's one here who I'll point to this post who KNOWS full well how much she scares the crap out of me and has done so for years! I don't know, I think it's just me I think Dommes are far scarier than most Doms. I'm a woman! We don't say what we WANT! But we reserve the right to get pissed off if we don't get it. That's what makes us so fascinating! And not a little bit scary.

Wasn't that basically what Purrr was (although it was more S&M than D/s)?

If they organised a HomDom or Male Dom event (whatever you want to call it), it would be shut down within the hour! The organiser's would be accused of being sexist towards women! I can see it now; a parade of Feminists with banners! lol Edited 3 Jan 11, 9:23 PM by Xrampage

Charming. I'm two things - a switch and a feminist (neither of which, btw, are four-letter words in my book).
I've been to femdom events before, and I'd go to the event that's being planned by @sirebel and others. My reasons for going to either/both are the same - to spend an evening in a particular dynamic that resonates within me. Life is grand as a switch. An event like this isn't at odds with my views on gender equality (though I don't wanna get this post deleted by @admin for thread hijacking, so I won't go into that). It's just meant to appeal to people who identify with an M/f dynamic, which I do. If it weren't my thing, I wouldn't trash it - I just wouldn't go. Simples!

*YOU* don't need to feel unsafe, no one need feel unsafe. However on a previous thread about this type of event it was suggested that some women might, and there was discussion about what could be put in place to try to encourage more women to participate. |
