If the boot is flipped, shall we ever find the egg? The outcomes, as I see them, are :
1. The egg disappears.
2. The egg stays for a moment, then runs for cover.
3. We discover by close examination that the egg was never there to start with.
4. The egg dies of fright and you eat it.
I think I fear outcome 3 the most. If the egg was never there, even briefly, where exactly _was_ it? Have we wasted so much time looking, only to discover that the egg had remained in it's dungeon on the isle of the lost souls? Where they keep the marbles?
Although outcome 1 is kinda scary too, now that I think about it. I'd constantly be looking for it in my boxers before putting them on in the morning. I mean, you don't want egg-teeth clamping down on your gonads first thing in the morning, do you?
No.
Indeed not.
Outcome 2 isn't really much better than 1, but at least you get to see which direction the little bugger runs in.
So that leaves 4 as the only desirable outcome. And, let's face it, it could be worse.
Much worse.
We could be talking about doggie-doo.
Yukky.
