Picture the scene....
You're in a pet shop trying to choose which puppy you'll collar and take home.
There are a whole lot of puppies in the shop.... _But_ so many of them are just whiiiiiining and whiiiiining. They don't shut up!
They all make the same bleating, annoying whining sound.... It's almost like the little puppies are talking..... You imagine that if you listend *really* closely you could hear them saying "why-o-why-o-why-o-why-o-why-does-no-one-make-all- the-running-and-pick-me-and-let-me-live-my-fantasy- out-without-making-any-real-effort"....
But that would just be imagining too far....
Alas, due to all the whining you decide to leave all the puppies in the shop where they can all sit in the window looking sad and whining to each other.........
Months go by and you walk past the shop again. You decide to go in and have a look, just in case they have some new puppies to look at.
But most of the whining puppies are still there.... Bleating and whining in the same way they did the last time you looked. Some of them are looking a little sad, some are looking a little depressed. If you imagined *really* hard now you might think that they were looking like real people - people who had never managed to make enough effort and face the real nature of life with a collar.
But that would be imagining *way* too much.....
So, there they are.... the puppies - still whining and bleating to this very day. Still without an owner, still not able to understand that all the whining and bleating was what drove away most of the potential owners.....
You feel sad.... but you know that if you brought one home, you would return it to the shop again within weeks as it would continue to whine and bleat even if you looked after it the very best you could.
It's a shame.........
