And well he might.
For it is with a heavy heart that he found a tissue _underneath_ the box of matches he had been looking for.
Sometime earlier, while trying to light his cigar he had realised that A) He had no matches and, B) He had lost his tissues.
He proceeded to have each member of his platoon executed as a show of strength.
He could do without tissues.
He was strong. And he was going to show them he was.
But now he found his tissues and realised that the murders had been pointless.
He loved his tissues and felt he should just have come to terms with it. Shown his emotions to his men, broken down and begged them....
"Tissues..... I need... tissues..."
Is what he should have said, in retrospect. Not
"You there - you're next for the chop"
And then shot them.
Which just goes to show - follow your heart. And suppressing emotions only leads to heartache.
