I see the students are out protesting in London again.

I suppose this is a re-sit, because they fucked up last time.

I just love the way the media was trying to focus on the violence, and the students were too busy doing the "hello Mum" thing in the background of the reports.

Biased reporting in the UK? Never... lol

It's a national protest today I think...There were students protesting in York, Leeds, Lancaster and Warrington that I know of.

Yeah, students care about things. That's fucking hillarious.

Oh no wait.It's really not.

Why do people find this so amusing? We held a peaceful protest today to have the right to do what *everyone* older than us who grew up in Britain had the right to do.

Well I support the student protests and think that £9,000 a year tuition fees for (in some cases) very little tuition is extortionate. The whole of society gains from educating young people and we should all pay for it just as we all pay for hospitals (when I've not been in one for over 20 years).

It's not actually...some small scale things were organised a lot of uni's like mine opted out due to the next stage being pursued. as for students not caring about stuff??? yeah...not even going there what with being all the pub all the time and whatnot far too busy drinking then be working on a degree im paying for myself 3 grand a year cause the loans don't get given to me. the fee increase will only screw us as a country as we need a highly educated work force to compete in a global market as it is we are ranked surprisingly low on that front despite the relative wealth of the nation.

The only problem with this is to compete in a global market you really need to be producing something and making things in large quantities generally is done by people on the minimum wage. You'd be surprised how few people that are highly educated will accept a job on minimum wage. So giving the country a highly educated work force is somewhat counter productive!
