Apart from all the free publicity (Louis Walsh says there's no such thing as "bad" publicity, some is just better than others), I'm not sure I'm seeing too much. Sarah Kane becomes a BDSM martyr? The barn starts to become more legitimised as a kink venue? As was said earlier, there's obviously a good chunk of back-history here that casual observers of the thread won't know. I have followed these threads with varying degrees of sadness and amusement. All I can say is congratulations to Sarah Kane and submissive serena on outing the Barn! The Barn ran for going on three years with no serious incidences. Within just over a month of these two taking over, they have managed to destroy the place possibly beyond recovery - through sheer stupidity and arrogance. To fail to learn from the mistakes made that led directly to the previous outing, i.e. it can't be advertised online and must be used discreetly, is crass stupidity of the highest degree. To think that you can go into a building that has no change of use, no business registration, no insurances, no planning permissions, no fire certificate the list is endless and splash it all over the internet with no comeback proves what happens when egos are larger than knowledge and research. To then decide when the crap hits the fan that you've had enough and run away with your tails between your legs, leaving the owner to deal with the fallout and with a now virtually useless building well, that's disgraceful. The pair who have caused all of this have gone silent online and Sarah Kane texted me on Wednesday evening stating that she has had enough and is walking away. Classy! I do hope they change their minds and support the owner this weekend at the very least. The owner will now have to deal with the council who will be baying for retrospective business rates, planning permission, change of use applications, licences (it has been advertised that admission fees are in operation), HMRC, utilities providers who will want to charge at business rates, the press, the neighbours, and goodness knows who else. It could still be used for photo shoots and (quiet) workshops, but no self-respecting pro-Dom(me) or pro-sub would dream of working from a place where they would risk exposing themselves and their clients to the risk of the press and angry neighbours and they were, after all, the main source of income. I was this week named on this site as being the person who outed the Barn. Why, then, have I offered to help with damage limitation? I appreciate Sarah Kane posting an apology on her weblogs, although it is a pity that I had to threaten court action to secure it; perhaps in future she will monitor what is posted in her name and be more careful who she allows to use her profile! Hopefully by now it is clear to most people that there has been a smear campaign running over the past week or so. I believe that Sarah Kane wasn't aware of a lot of what has been posted in her name and what went on behind the scenes, but that does not lessen the hurt that has been caused.
At the end of the day I could go on and on about how they have screwed up, but I really can't be bothered and it's self-evident. To not only refuse to see that they have done it to themselves, to cast unfounded accusations around, to publically accuse someone who for the record spent the whole weekend in the company of several other people, all of whom offered to swear affidavits, is not only despicable but incredibly stupid.
I wish the owner luck he will need it! If I can be of help then let me know. And no, I do NOT want the Barn back and I do NOT want to use it I have my own premises, thank you very much Please note that I have not posted this to inflame anyone I would have posted at the beginning if that had been my intention. I am posting now in the hope that this will bring an end to all the gossip and speculation and people posting inaccuracies just for the sake of posting; I am actually the only person who knows how the Barn was run in the past. Would like to respond in private but you have me blocked .. I have no desire to do this in public . But will say I have posted nothing in Sarah Kanes name , I am confident she can speak for her self , as is evident . Do you sit at home thinking up 'Conspiracy theories '??

You are blocked due to the vicious and petty nature of your recent communications with me ... I have no desire to communicate with you. I would ask you to read my post thoroughly ... you will find that I have not said anywhere that it was you who has posted in Sarah Kane's name, nor that it was you who posted accusing me of having outed you. I would have hoped you would be too busy preparing to support the barn owner tomorrow to be trying to get stroppy online without having the facts straight.
I have no intention of rising to the bait and kicking off, serena, much more your style than mine, so do carry on, but please keep the legal ramifications of your posts in mind

My only motive for offering to help is that I ran the Barn and know the laws and regulations; I also know how to circumvent most things, hence it was such a popular and successful venue.
