I'm no caning expert, Lady Pandora is a good one to ask on this.
From what I've seen it can leave you with hardened skin, lumps under the skin, purple or dark coloured skin and the worse problem - weak spots which break easily when caned and bleed.
I limit my clients to how hard and for how long they can cane me to keep my lovely soft white skin. Pro submissive & switch with great dungeon & LOTS of toys!

I visited a Pro Domme 2 months ago who caned me through my underpants as I hadn't sessioned for several years and she was concerned about bruising and the effect of the cane pain wise( still hurt a few hours later, which is what I expected). Most dommes know that the cane is a far more severe implement than many people realise and has to be used carefully. |

I use the cane and it has to be used carefully but the switch I have, a long,thin american type cane can leave red marks and more if over used so I limit it to doing red marks and avoid over use. http://empressm7.uboot.com/ pro tv dom and switch. It is a tricky implement and does require care in use to avoid injury. The domme I visited used a Coventry senior cane, which would be less severe than her dragon cane, and for all I received six whacks through my underpants, it still hurt enough- I could still feel it three hours later- without causing any bad marking or pain. However, I will be going back to her after the New Year and she said that she would do it bare bottom as my tolerance built up. |

I had 200 across my bare bottom.But I don't mark easily.But I had ridges for a few days afterwards. |

Bear in mind the nearest pro is a long way from me, and distance makes a visit an expensive treat, but the domme reckoned after sessioning I could take a bare bottomed caning as my bottom took the beating well. However, as I hadn't sessioned for a few years, she only slippered and paddled me bare bottomed and also introduced me to the joys of Scottish hand tawsing, something I really took to. |

The sting of her cane was almost unbearable to start with.But I was gagged.After awhile I excepted the the pain. |
