I just read that the total sum spent on the extensive police investigation, code named "Operation Spanner", was over £3m.

Should there be a limit on how much is spent investigating a crime? How much would you spend before calling off a rape investigation? Why don't cash machines have a Gamble button?

Do you think all crimes are one and the same? Railing against the tyranny of 'common sense'.

Comparing that to the operational costs for my company, I'd say £3m doesn't sound too much for an operation of that scale. It also had a big impact for the amount spent. Good bangs for bucks for all concerned. .... I agree that any facts about "Operation Spanner" are depressing. Edited 3 Nov 10, 8:17 PM by toothbrush

And this is where it rather differs from a rape investigation... Railing against the tyranny of 'common sense'.

£7.50 or the price of two large cappucinos from the nearest coffee shop, whichever is less. Can we not just be depressed about this without some kind of cross-examination? Basically as I am seeink it, Ray, the problem is that you are not callink your girlfriend for five months. You see, the hot babies like to feel wanted. If you are not callink them on the phone for a while, it is like a way of saying "you are worst song, played on ugliest guitar"

A hell of a lot less than three million that's for damn sure. Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: Why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: Why not marry safe science if you love it so much. |
