I have been following the post on this appalling attempt to spoil a BDSM event. Perhaps, those who took it upon themselves to make false accusations, should stop and think, how would they like their pleasure spoilt? Another fact is,what impression would a new member of the scene, get after reading of such goings on? If we cannot agree amongst ourselves, then we do not stand a hope in hell's chance of convincing the average person in the street, that we are just normal people. Instead of trying to disrupt events, certain ones ought to remember that,if it were not for the organizers of events, then the scene would fold up! I would how much time and effort the guilty ones put into holding functions?

Just read post 1 and joined the part 2. Se are so sorry we missed yet another great event by the reviews. we where away, having one of them away moments. We missed the 2nd one two for the same reason. We were at NO1 though, it was a fantastic evening and we can't wait to see how the venue has progressed, it sounds like alot of hard work has gone into something us real lifestylers admire. We where at the lash event years ago when it got raided by the police, CK had a sub on the stocks whipping her as they walked in!! Lash is still going strong. Well done. X be there next time. X angel_creatureCK i'm proud of who i am & i am now able to be who i am.

Speaking as someone whos attendance at Dytopia was their first real fetish event in Manchester I must say I do find this thread a bit of a perplexing read! But, happily, I didn't see or encounter anything at the event but fellow weirdos seeking a good time, whatever form that took. It struck me as almost a fetish form of the Gash collective parties. Unusual venue, details of which were released close to the time, not for profit ethos, vibrant crowd, all done for the love. Long may it continue. It's that spark and collective spirit that I try to apply to my events. Ignore the haters and bickering. What you have is very special. As I said on the facebook page, all you are missing is a dancefloor and all your bases will be covered. x

All good ideas come in for flak from time to time, (i.e evolution, capitial punishment, chocolate cover pretzels) that's what makes them so great when they succeed. However it is shocking that someone wanted to stop this event going forward & more so that it had to be someone within the scene. This was my first fetish event, I'm new to the scene & newer to Manchester & know hardly anyone in this city, so the night for me was great to socialise, meet new friendly people & see more of the scene. It was a real eye opener for me & I can't wait for the next one! Glad to see the police were so understanding & fair. I true testament to GMP for tolerance towards other lifestyles & that they knew their time would be better spent catching criminals. Whoever this sad, bitter & pathetic idiot is, I hope they have read all the messages about this event. The 4 message boards that were full before the event & those that have appeared since. Well done to all who organised the night for both a great event & for standing strong against this individual. Thanks for a great time! Edited 24 Oct 10, 9:25 AM by Bound_for_you

Saddened to read about this.... from everything I've heard and read this event has gone from strength to strength, it takes a lot of time and effort from some good people to get it together. Long may it continue!! "We are bits of stellar matter that got cold by accident, bits of star gone wrong"

Hello Dystopians Have only just caught up with this unpleasant news via a friend pointing it out on the phone. As I don't attend (hardly get out these days) I don't usually read threads about Dystopia. I've got halfway through thread one but I'm going to need to get on with something else, so apologies if I'm not up to speed with everything in the threads. I had some concerns before the first event about how it was going to be run, so I made those direct to an organiser and they were all addressed by event two. If anyone has issues with any event and how it's run THAT is the best and most helpful procedure - not bitching or complaining to others - especially not the police! Going to the police is about as low as it gets (everyone seems sure it's 'one of us' but is this certain? Seems stupid and to call police on our own people. I don't understand what the point of it would be.)
If anyone has genuine safety related concerns - put them to the organisers who can do something about it - even better, bloody help out if you can. It is clear that people running Dystopia have worked really hard to build an event which people love, this doesn;t harm anyone else and if people don't like the event, then just don't go! There's plenty of choice these days about what to attend and we each need to pick the events which suit us.. destructive nastiness does nobody any favours. Hope the matters which organisers people feel need sorting can be rectified and that no further harassment is received. De
