Self indulgent blog, feel free to ignore.

Moving house is terrifying! There's so much to sort out. I wish I could wave a magic wand and it be 6 weeks from now and all done!

I'm actually in a relatively fortunate position, because I'm moving from renting to buying which means I will have an overlap after the house is bought and before I actually have to move. I plan to use that time to do the couple of small bits of building work which need doing, and to decorate (including paying people to come in and decorate). Being able to move into a freshly decorated house will make such a difference to the practicality of life, rather than trying to decorate round my furniture for the next 6 months. So I know I'm lucky to have that little luxury.

I've got a bag full of little tester pots of paint. I've got a pretty clear idea in my head of how I want to decorate the place. I'm going round to the new house tomorrow morning (with Charless coming to help me - and he hasn't seen it except from the outside) to measure everything so I can think about stuff like, will my curtains fit?

I've spoken to my solicitor today and all being well we're set for exchange of contracts tomorrow with completion 2 weeks later. I'm simultaneously excited and absolutely shitting myself. Eeeeep!

I'm not moving again for at least ten years! I moved just over 3 years ago when I split up with my ex (and basically started again in terms of furniture, everything, because I moved out), so with this move I will have had more than my share!
