I was pointing out the difference between the Army Benevolent Fund and HFH, and how the latter is more encompassing if you want to give to a military charity.

And I'm sorry but it's exactly this sort of nitpicking that took certain charities out of the shortlist. I just want to donate some money to a good cause, the arguments spoil the whole objective. The money will be going to a good cause. Full stop. | |||

Hiya.. just wanted to say thanks so much for pointing this out, so glad you did. CAAN is definitely NOT a charity! Can you imagine the panel at the Charities commission.. "Errrrrrrr - ok we have CAAN... they want to save the perverts, especially the criminalised ones" "LULZ" "Yeh.. so that's a no then" I can't see it going down very well! If people of alternative sexualities were to ever have a charity it won't be until we are decriminalised, and even then, it won't be CAAN. We've got activism to do - charities spend most of their time and energies and money just existing.. De

CAAN is not a charity, it's just a network of people which operates via our activist's donated time and skills - we try and find a way so that anyone who wishes to join in can. Materials which cost money usually get covered with what we have in our own pockets and donated resources like printing etc.
