I have also used Belle Epoque corsets, which have also been very nice.

There are some useful links in the group How To look Good Kinky with tips on how to choose the right size, good suppliers etc. :)

The trick is you get what you pay for when it comes to corsets - cheaper ones are not as well-made for the most part. And Steel Boning is a good thing - plastic boning not - plastic boning just curls and disorts the shape of the corset.

Edited to add link: http://www.informedconsent.co.uk/groups/HowToLoo...

While I agree you do get what you pay for, if you are looking to try something and want a cheap starter corset then I recomnend corsets boulevard on ebay (http://stores.ebay.co.uk/corsetsboulevardltd) I know a few people who have bought from there and they do the trick very well

I have had several corsets from Corsets Boulevard and I can highly recommend them. Very very high quality and you will be amazed at the prices. I have tried cheap ones before and they are very poor quality with plastic bones, but the CB ones are steel boned and just as supportive and well made as Vollers etc.

I wouldn't waste my money on one expensive one when I can have several different ones for the same price, but then I am greedy like that :-)

Help - I'm interested in getting a corset to, that link for Corsets Boulevard isn't working....!

I've always been a huge fan of corsets boulevard, and to a large extent I still am. However after trying on a friends from corsets-uk linky, I have to say I have been converted. For about the same price, you have have "proper" lace, and to be frank a garment that is much better constructed. They also offer a bit more advice in terms of choosing the correct length corset for your height.

Personally I'd recommend the heavy lacing corsets as they give an amazing figure without being "too much" for a corset virgin!

You can buy some very nice corsets "off the peg" from some very good eBay stores. However, for the very best corsets, you should buy a custom made corset. To that end I can not recommend highly enough http://www.honeybeecorsets.com/ Yes, it *is* more expensive, but it is very much worth the extra cost.

Thank you for the CorsetsBoulevard recommendation!

After Miss SexyLondoners tried on a corset at LAM this weekend, I have decided we need one in our lives. She looked simply incredible in it! However, the prices were rather steep for something that is likely to be used so rarely. At the price of CB though, it's definitely worth purchasing one. Shame there is such a small range in 22inches though :-(.

I think it depends as well, on your own figure or body size.

I am, heaven forbid here, a bit on the fat side!!!

My first corset I bought on line from @FetishJess, and its adorable, and my second, I bought from corsets uk.

As I have a rather ample bosom, that does take some, ummm.....restraint! I would buy from corsets uk again.

I don't suppose there are any that can shape you enough without needing assistance on wearing them ?

Arrrr, I do mine up on my own but sadly not as tight as I'd wish. This is not a bad thing for when I am driving any way. When it's on I pull the cord as much as possible and then bring it around my waist and tie it at the front. Then when at an event etc I ask a freind to tighten it up.

The highest fences we have to climb, are those we have built within our mind

Just bought one from CB, will post again when it arrives with our thoughts.

With Miss SexyLondoners being a fashion graduate I'm sure she'll have a thing or two to say about the quality of the craftsmanship etc hopefully it will all be good!

If you buy in the FairyGothMother (Lulu and Lush) shop in London the staff will always show you the best way to lace yourself. The staff have always been helpful everytime we've been there with advice and tips.
