Editing this to give you up to date info...though it is further down the post i know some people won't be arsed to read the full thread!! Subject to being able to book a table/s we propose that our Munch Xmas Party is held on Friday 3rd December at the Slow Boat Chinese Restaurant in Chester. i have memoed all the usual suspects and mentioned that it would be the Full Belly Weekend buffet at £16.90 per head. As there are 12 confirmed already i contacted Slow Boat today to ask if we needed to book this far in advance. i was told that it will NOT be the usual weekend buffet but a £20 Xmas Banquet instead. There is no menu up yet, though she tells me it should be in the next couple of weeks. When it is, i'll post the link on here. Please memo me if that makes any difference as to whether you want to come or not...rest assured that (if you've not been before) the food is superb whatever is on the Banquet menu, and there are plenty of vegetarian options. The sleepover places at mine are now all taken...but there is a small hotel practically across the road from my place, which is a 10 min walk from the restaurant and the city centre http://www.brookside-hotel.co.uk/. There are also a couple of premier inns and a travelodge within walking distance. Please DO NOT book hotel rooms until we have full confirmation that our booking has been accepted (unless you can cancel them without any financial loss), as we can't be responsible for any monies lost for unused hotel rooms. six co-organiser Edited Sun 26 Sep 10, 5:57 PM by Chester_Munch

Being greedy I want to do both, so if your Xmas party was on another night that would be good.

you know what i think about planning for xmas to early already if your on fetlife. Her penultimate sigh's caught softly on the kindleing wind, Her saintly eye's filling with tears lifting with truth Then a golden flash like the onset off heaven leaving her screams breaking my heart. and in the grip off fire i knew the death of love

Well i suppose we could have the usual munch and then have a party another night...or a meal out. i think the general consensus at the last munch was to have a "bad taste xmas party" at the munch venue!! Take that to mean what you will

I'm actually edging towards the idea of a meal. I think it would be great to do it a little earlier with the option to go on to thi party afterwards. XxX

A meal out would be nice, see how well we behave in a vanilla enviroment or see who has forgot their "tourettes" medication. lol Plus we can do a dress up theme. lol

i think a meal is a good idea too A party would be lovely but there's a lot of work involved and it can end up being quite costly. Plus i think come Christmas time most of us are watching the pennies and trying to spread ourselves (no pun intended) thinly accross the ground because there's so much on. Just my tuppence worth. Well i wasn't thinking of the Ritz, just somewhere we can book a table around Christmas. We can add our own personal touch to it don't ya think?

what about we all cook food and share it? cheaper and more convivial.
sincerely am not really keen of paying through the nose for some dry turkey slices and asda's mince pies! moreover if we get a private room somewhere we dont need to mind our language or invent private codes! |
