Thanks, I managed to get some. I'd been searching ebay under sounds which brought up some pretty expensive ones in The States.
Got a memo from a very kind gentleman last night who had got some on ebay. They were listed under urethral dilators, which is why I couldn't find them. Got 2 sets for £40 including P&P so I'm one very happy bunny (I'm sure Ollie will be too when he reads this
Now, all I need is a demo and we're off! I'd still like to know if I can use them with the Violet wand so if anyone can advise that would be great. Thanks
ETA: Ollie, never mind checking my ebay account to see if I really bought them ..... you'll only be disappointed when you see that I did ya so gorra luv this Edited 17 Sep 10, 3:54 PM by Incandescence

Recently someone in the dentistry field was telling me about some of the things that live in teeth. It was actually fairly scary how hard they can be to kill - which is why dentists will often throw away perfectly good equipment that you'd think would just need sterilising. Now, I was always under the impression that a good boiling would kill anything - and I mean *anything*. And Arsnic, I was assured in school by a science teacher, would kill anything that is carbon based. As long as enough was used. And yet these medical professionals are not using boiling/arsnic to sterilise these (relatively expensive) pieces of dentistry equipment. So I don't think being overly cautious when doing something that can introduce bacteria and potentially result in infections and STD's etc is at all a bad thing. I mean, the possability of loosing the ability to have children must be pretty real. When teaching people about anal sex, the saying "too much lube is almost enough" is often banded around. Perhaps with sounds, "too much caution is almost enough" might be a good mantra. But then, as I've said before, I've never done it and the possability of hurting someone may be making me feel overly cautious. But I for one think you're being quite wise to adopt a "lets be doubly sure" approach.

Rawrrrrrrr - love your new picture, boy De
PS If anyone has a link to medical supply stores of sounds of any variety - disposable or not - that would be cool as I can't find anything in UK not at fetish shops - not sure what I'm doing wrong

http://shop.ebay.co.uk/?_from=R40&_trksid=p3907.... Don't buy from fetish shops, the mark up is shocking. I've bought all mine (all 5 sets) from ebay. I left some other useful links on one of the Luxe threads too. Threadbump! Just one last attempt to find out - who knows anything about using sounds on the *female* anatomy - whether it's worth looking into or not, how pleasureable women have actually found it (or not), and if said pleasures are likely to be worth the risks...???? It's all in your head...

I have had sounds put in me. Like I said earlier, what you need to remember is, the female urethra is only 4-5cm is length. That's why females are much more prone to urethral infections than men.
The feeling is pretty amazing. It feels like that perfect moment when your right on the brink of orgasm but it just keeps going I agree with what others here have said about being extremely good with hygiene. Nobody should be boiling their sounds. I also appreciate that not everyone wants or can afford an autoclave but most of us can afford a canning pan or a decent pressure cooker (the poor mans autoclave). So long as you can maintain a head of 246 degrees for 30-35 minutes, your items will be sterile. If you have neither, then you can use the dry heat method. Scrub the items and dip them in alcohol before rinsing well. You can also use a bleach solution but stainless steel doesn't like bleach and so no more than a few minutes and rinse thoroughly. Pop your items into a wire basket and then into a pre-heated oven, 250 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes. Our new web sites www.edgeplay.co.uk and www.thehitachimagicwand.co.uk |
