I've always loved having marks that show. I was a lot more overt about it when I was younger and would deliberately dress to show them off. Nowadays, I would gain a more subtle satisfaction from it, but it still makes me smile.
I went to Folsom Europe in Berlin last week and I loved seeing all the visible bruises - all those obvious markers of what a good time we were all having.

I was very happy to have a collection of my own and even had a favourite bruise which I think is very cute!
