I have noticed a definite increase in girls/women seemingly openly wearing their bruises with pride. Is this a recent phenomenon? Is it part of the D/s dynamic to be 'made' to display them? How do subs feel about it? Thankfully I'm fairly confident that the bruising I see isn't the result of non-consensual domestic violence because a) they are in places where ropes, clamps etc are usually applied b) so openly displayed and c) the nature of the bruises themselves eg constraint, compression, pinching. There are other factors such as the wearer's style and appearance, but let's not judge books by covers eh? Personally...I love seeing them. Edited Thu 9 Sep 10, 12:31 AM by Quiet_Fire

Its not unusal but there are certain situations when it is avisable to cover up, such as being a work.

How did you note the occurrence of bruising in the past, to have a baseline with which to compare with now? Why don't cash machines have a Gamble button?

I've never noticed other seemingly vanilla people in public with bruises that I have felt were kink related. I have been out in public MANY times with fairly obvious bruises. I hope that people notice. I like imagining what they're thinking. Bruises are gorgeous and wearing them loud and proud in public is hawt.

Um, well that's easy isn't it. How does anyone notice a change? Visibility or otherwise. Hence my question. I used to see very few (if any at all) but, over the last six months or so I have seen maybe twenty blatent 'bruise wearers' - in three different cities. Twenty may not sound a great deal, but from a baseline of near zero, it has increased. Perhaps it was just the summer weather, but I don't recall seeing the amount of 'brandished' bruises any summer before. The reverse of conspicuous by absence!

I am ALWAYS extremely proud of personal bruising and personally find it very beautiful - I am happy and comfortable for closer friends to see them but I am also aware that Members Of Public may not understand or may jump to the wrong conclusions, so I am more discrete when out and about, no matter how much I want the world to see my rainbow-coloured marks. My rule of thumb is that if I am around someone/people that I am happy explaining them to and who I know will not be made to feel uncomfortable by my lust for a little violence, then I am happy to show them off Taste religion, lick a witch!

I looooove my bruises, but unfortunately I hardly seem to bruise anymore.
I think I'd be ok with showing off faint rope marks and maybe some small bruises. But that really depends on who gets to see them. My family is definitely a no go. They know what I'm into so theoretically it's not a problem, but I don't want to remind them of the weird creature their innocent daughter has become

I hate it when the bruises fade to that (in my opinion) horrible yellow colour. I love them when they're big and dark and red and blue and purple. When they start healing and fading to that yellow "Wow, you've got loads of highlighter on your skin" look that takes AGES to go away, I don't like them and it's annoying when they show in public. I have so many photos of me where you can see a little bit of yellow poking through when I'm out and about in a vanilla sense and, in my opinion, it just looks nasty. I wish they would stay gorgeously coloured for longer and then fade away to clear skin. Alas, it is not so. COnsequently, my breasts are very, very yellow at the moment and my arse is beginning to get that way....and I'm going away this weekend and will be wearing a swimsuit for a large portion of it! Great. Horrible yellow bruises in public. Meh.

What experience of brusises that won't heal - my sub still has some X marks on the fronts of her thighs that are still red/pink 5 months after the session. All sorts of creams have been tried along with hot baths, cold compressions etc etc. Any suggestions? Thanks |
