Best way to experiment at no cost is to use hazel sticks, fresh from the hedge. Cut a few about 4' long or so, of different thicknesses, and try them out. I've never had to buy anything! For me, thin and whippy works best... |

Never use garden bamboo canes as they can cut your skin. Try canes made by quality control or Accademy supplies,in other words Sir Guy and co and practise on a cusion first so as you learn to cane below the coxics,otherwise you can cause serious injury. |

My fave cane is my senior Kooboo dragon cane, its quite thick, has lovely balance and a bit of bounce ....makes the most awesome noise with each stroke ! there are so many, just get one that feel right in your hand. weight and comfort in your hand is important, as you will deliver a better strike.
