This isn't BDSM, this is criminal exploitation. Why don't cash machines have a Gamble button?

I should state it is not a documentary it is just a film but I am sure there are such non-consensual situations arising today. SOS

To quote from The Channel 4 website about it: …I Am Slave, is the extraordinary tale of one woman's fight for freedom from modern-day slavery - a powerful story of imprisonment, cruelty and despair, but also one of hope and humanity. No BDSM, just exploitation. Why don't cash machines have a Gamble button?

Yes think it is about the wrong part of slavery were people are used and abused with out there consent to benefit greedy people I and other subs do it with consent and trust because we love it and are devoted to the Mistress we serve all without fear well you now what I mean Fear of failure is all that is the worst bit , and we are useless that is fear no more fun Edited 30 Aug 10, 11:14 AM by will_ingtoplease

Essential viewing I would think - To highlight the real chasm between the (much debated!) consensual and non-consensual - I had it noted. 'Better to light a candle than to curse the Darkness' Confucius Edited 30 Aug 10, 12:06 PM by msrubenesque

There is an utter difference between what this film is advertised to be about and wiitwd. Full stop. To be honest, it makes me uncomfortable (and so perhaps it should) that i refer to myself as slave when there are still so many human beings in enforced situations far removed from anything related to BDSM. i have not yet decided whether i will be watching later... Possibly not something that willing slaves would want to watch, but what about us would-be abusers? Essential viewing, I feel. If I watched TV. Which I don't. And I'm busy tonight. Ah well, back to facetious comments on the internet for me then, eh. ^^^^ This is probably a facetious comment.

ASBO-lutely! last year's criminal justice nonsense was enshrined in law because there's no clear distinction between wiitwd and old-school, non-consensual slavery. mandatory viewing for anybunny who wants to win the next time they argue the "consent" question with an arsehole (elected or otherwise). and, if it doesn't turn you on, don't rummage in your lap while watching. simple as that. wi respect, k opportunity crops

Coming off the moral high-ground argument, I would have thought from a practical perspective, this could be useful viewing for all of us. Even though it is fiction, if it has any grounding in fact, it is useful to know how these kind of things happen. We would all like to avoid us or someone we know getting caught up in something like this.* . *Note: Exceptions may apply. ^^^^ This is probably a facetious comment. |
