As mainstreaming gestures go I reckon this is a fairly significant one.
According to the lovely Dr Connolly one should start with a few light slaps and success here may engender a willingness to experiment with "other power exchange techniques" later (mwah haha...), always assuming you remember to ask for consent first.
Excellent stuff.
Perhaps some personal experiences with Billy to draw on there?

The Guardian is up there with the Papacy when it comes to hypocrisy and inability to apologise. For many years their lonely hearts ads had a disclimer in small print. 'we will not accept advertisements of a sadomasochistic nature or implication'. About twelve years ago I wrote to them about this pointing out the inconsistency with (the large print) of many of their editorials about tolerance and discrimination. I never got an adult response out of them but after about eighteen months of correspondence the small print suddenly vanished. No apology of course. Stormy | |

Considering the appalling press we have The Guardian are a light in a very black tunnel.
