Master and i had been talking about buying one of those lovely wicker picnic baskets for ages. Well the other week we found one in a charity shop that was ideal for us.
Today we decided to christen it.So i packed it up with loads of goodies and we headed off.
The location? a lovely section of the Grand Union Canal, a pub, a cafe and a couple of souvenir shops, but also quite a nice picnic area.
So out came the basket and we settled down for a sumptuous repast. Unfortunately we didnt settle for long. No sooner had i poured us both a drink and broke out the sarnies than we were bombarded by a host of wasps.
It was impossible to remain there and eat, christ it was impossible to reach the food and drink let alone consume it.
So we hastily gathered all the gear together, crammed it back into the basket and headed back to the car.
We did have a lovely picnic, albeit in our own living room. Oh well, at least we tried lol.
be well and be happy
