However I don't have that many plans. Plus I tend to be more of an improviser than a planner. I try to plan out things as far as I can and then deal with the rest of stuff as it happens. Like I will plan to go somewhere and see what details I need to take care of and then deal with anything else when I'm there.
So today I planned to go the cinema. All went well until I tried crumpets for breakfast. Apparently 6 of them can have a similar effect to 4 slices of toast. Not sure if the crumpets have a new recipe or I wasn't toasting them for long enough, but they weren't getting nice and crispy. So anyway, I returned to my computer after giving up the sacrifice and noticed that it was just after 11 and the film started at 11:15. So off I dashed hoping to get there a little late in order to miss some of the adverts, but alas the film was delayed.
So sitting through all the scrambled actors names Jennifer "Aniston" came a voice from the back a few seconds after I'd worked it out. And then we had nyjohn ppde which was again obvious. Then we had a real stumper, nyjohn ppde.
But eventually the adverts and crap was over and the trailers started. Seem this years cheesy parody is Vampires, with Vampires Suck, based mainly upon that Twilight pants. Some other trailers were shown, Grown Ups looks funnier but still nothing I'd rush out to see. However I do want to see The Expendables at some point.
And then it was time for The A-Team and I enjoyed it a lot. I nice lengthy intro to get you into the mood and to get a few pieces into place. The pacing was good and the film didn't slow that much. They seemed to focus more on Hannibal actually planning the missions rather than in the show where it looked more like Hannibal was taking credit for good luck. But I liked that as it showed you the plan being planned along side the action. There seems to be a lot more of such things in TV and films these days and I like it.
I think the only real bad thing about the film was that is was a film and not a pilot. It means we might get a couple more films, but we don't get the Saturday evening joy of looking forward to it each week. Saturday night TV is generally shite other than NCIS and whatever other shows Channel 5 has, or maybe the occasional film. But there isn't anything to rush home for like there was when growing up. BBC and ITV is just showing whatever cheap cheesy stuff they can whip up out of some gone off milk they found in the fridge. They should be showing repeats of good actiony fun stuff if they can't produce or buy anything better.
Anyway, I like a film where there is an intelligent plan behind it all, like Fracture or The Usual Suspects. I've seen a few recently and so it's good to see that The A-Team actually falls into that category, although in a more action based way.
Watched the Sherlock Holmes film the other day and I have to say, there is something incredibly sexy about an cunningly intelligent woman, especially a red head like Holmes' girlfriend.
Anyway, I'm off to do something before I get bored. Not sure what though.

Didn't stay to watch all the way through the end credits so will wait for the DVD. Did notice that the General at the court marshall had the same name as the director, turns out to be his dad. And noticed some of the details on The Greater Escape. I always behave. I just don't specify how. |
