Hi.

I have recently got a bike again, after a gap of 2 1/2 years, when someone nicked my Baby (ZZR600). It's only a Diversion 600, but I need to start somewhere, and I have a slightly dodgy shoulder at the mo, so am having to be a bit moe careful with hauling a heavier bike around.

It would be good to meet up with fellow bikers to go out, as I have misplaced my confidence, or more likely, time, as I just haven't been able to get back out on it as much as I'd like.

It would be good to meet up with people for a ride out, as I find riding alone can be a bit like eating out alone, I prefer company to share it with.

Anyway, just an introduction.

Perfect reply Mistress H and thanks for posting, ZZR and Diversion 600's are worthy tools for sure, i suffered a shoulder injury in 97 when i wrote a gsx-r 750 off,i hit the gym for a while to build the strength back up but got there in the end so i hope your recovery is going well. All are welcome here and its not the cc that counts, just the attitude and outlook - just another family with a common interest ( or two ) with a few more numbers we should be able to arrange a ride out or a meet sometime.

Cheers and ride safe.

Nothing wrong with the 600 Diversion- it got me into quite a bit of trouble. Then I got a 900 Divvy, and I liked that so much I got a 1300 Divvy... sorry FJR1300 :-) (see profile for picture)

I've been like that for the last couple of years. One year I managed 17000 miles, but lately that has gone down to a couple of thousand at the most.

That would be a good idea - but it's a case of trying to get people into the same area to do some riding.

Ooh dear, I've read your profile...2" chicken strips, eh..I've probably got the whole chicken fillets!

Mind you, in my heyday, I have done a few trackdays (I have even done Nurburgring!) Not that that means anything, as I went at a very leisurly pace, as I didn't want a repeat of my fall at Oulton Park, where I broke my collar bone! As I said, it's all a case of confidence I think and encouragement with the right people. Nothing worse than someone shouting at me for not being able to keep up with the pace. But I have been known to go over the speed limit from time to time. Ha!

Anyway, I see you are in Scotland. I am based near Halifax, so maybe there is a northern bike group who can get together for a ride out.

Cheers MH

I would do it if I were you... I did, and it improved my riding. I have the IAM qualification - for bike and car. I enquired about the bike training at the end of the summer season, and while I was waiting for the bike training to restart, they got me through the car training. Well worth it.

I have had bikes since I was 17 , its a much better way to travel than a car. 2nd choice is a transit van they at least are practical and comfy ! I never feel safe in a car .
