I have recently got a bike again, after a gap of 2 1/2 years, when someone nicked my Baby (ZZR600). It's only a Diversion 600, but I need to start somewhere, and I have a slightly dodgy shoulder at the mo, so am having to be a bit moe careful with hauling a heavier bike around. It would be good to meet up with fellow bikers to go out, as I have misplaced my confidence, or more likely, time, as I just haven't been able to get back out on it as much as I'd like. It would be good to meet up with people for a ride out, as I find riding alone can be a bit like eating out alone, I prefer company to share it with. Anyway, just an introduction. Mistress H/H

Perfect reply Mistress H and thanks for posting, ZZR and Diversion 600's are worthy tools for sure, i suffered a shoulder injury in 97 when i wrote a gsx-r 750 off,i hit the gym for a while to build the strength back up but got there in the end so i hope your recovery is going well.
All are welcome here and its not the cc that counts, just the attitude and outlook - just another family with a common interest ( or two ) with a few more numbers we should be able to arrange a ride out or a meet sometime. Cheers and ride safe. Alectrician Edited 11 Aug 10, 9:56 PM by kinked_chain_mc

Ooh dear, I've read your profile...2" chicken strips, eh..I've probably got the whole chicken fillets! Mind you, in my heyday, I have done a few trackdays (I have even done Nurburgring!) Not that that means anything, as I went at a very leisurly pace, as I didn't want a repeat of my fall at Oulton Park, where I broke my collar bone! As I said, it's all a case of confidence I think and encouragement with the right people. Nothing worse than someone shouting at me for not being able to keep up with the pace. But I have been known to go over the speed limit from time to time. Ha! Anyway, I see you are in Scotland. I am based near Halifax, so maybe there is a northern bike group who can get together for a ride out. Cheers MH

I ride a ZZR1100, YZF R1 and a mk2 hayabusa - i am considering some advanced rider training at some point as its long overdue ! " The light that burns twice as bright burns half as long, and you have burned so very, very brightly "

I would do it if I were you... I did, and it improved my riding. I have the IAM qualification - for bike and car. I enquired about the bike training at the end of the summer season, and while I was waiting for the bike training to restart, they got me through the car training. Well worth it.

I have had bikes since I was 17 , its a much better way to travel than a car. 2nd choice is a transit van they at least are practical and comfy ! I never feel safe in a car . |
