Just Him speaking here...
I don't believe in Law. it's a guideline at best, for those without morality or ethics, and I believe that codefied ethics is little more than social finger wagging.
I do believe in personal morals. those little rules that you put on yourself and stick to because it's the right thing, and the further you go off the beaten path, the stricter you have to be with yourself.
Now, this isn't a major thing for me. it's not one of my cast iron things, but it's still something that I want to work out a way through... I like my toys. Not just my Transformers, anime figures, etc, but.. well, the things you would think of first on this site. rope, whips, needles, dildos, pegs, blades.. Anything I've used on others, I make sure I've experienced. It means I know what they do, how they feel, how people will respond to it, best way to get the most (or occasionally the least) out of it.
I've just got a new one.

A tazer/prod (thanks to the inspiration of @MarcusStrapp).
It looks lovely. It was very fun to make. Now, I should...power it up and zap myself with it in the thigh, but I really don't want to. I have a mild heart problem, and wouldn't risk any self induced electrical shock. even if it was in somewhere "100% safe".
Does this make me duplicitous? cowardly? Should I just pass this on to someone whose either not got this rule, or will be happy to do it? Should I just take it to the next munch and get a willing volunteer to give me a nice full description?
Opinions welcome.

it's not duplicitous or cowardly to avoid something that has an obvious risk to your survival, even if the odds are extremely low. I share the view that I would not do anything to a sub that I have not experienced myself (handy being a switch *lol*), though of course there are inevitably differences between the sexes which make this impossible and so some allowance has to be made.
I'd suggest you do indeed find a volunteer/sub to try it, preferably one who has played with electrics before - don't do what I did to my lady, who is very much a newbie, and swat her on the bare bum with an electric flyswat, it was not well-received and I may have put her off electro-play Lj quote=Rubberwitch] Breaking your own Rules Just Him speaking here...
