As you know, recently Backlash had a major success, when a poorly founded extreme porn charge, tenaciously pursued by the Crown Prosecution Service, was dropped. http://www.theregister.co.uk/2010/08/06/tiger_fr... But the law is still in place and people will still be advised to plead guilty, they will still be prosecuted, unless they have knowledge of Backlash and what Backlash can do for them. Effective campaigns require effective PR and Backlash is currently looking for a volunteer who can contribute specifically in this area and raise awareness. If you are interested, or know of anyone with PR expertise, feel free to memo us, or email us at contact@backlash-uk.org.uk Thank you.

seeing the court case i was astonished by the tiger video. Everybody i know in modelling, adult scene, you tube viewers, and even all mates at the local pub, and shopping centre etc., had that clip doing the rounds over 18 months ago, and hundreds of thousands of people must have seen it or have it on there mobile phones. The cps must have been aware of this. tc

Why not contact the UK media companies, argue a public interest in the case for one reason and then drop the law in there.

It's a nice idea, which is why someone with a PR background would have relevant media contacts, sympathetic journalists, commentators etc would be the starting point. Sending out information willy nilly is a gargantuan task and would more often than not result in the information being ignored. Which considering our limited resources, is not something a voluntary group can achieve maximum impact with. It's all about who and what you know.
