I've been thinking about this for a while and I've come to a conclusion; it's not the glasses or that underlying necrosis that means they never realize just how hot they are, it's not the complete lack of a tan or even them turning up dressed as our favourite anime character, it's not their brains( juicy and delicious as they are) or the fact (which I love) that underneath that old Star Wars T-shirt they're some of the kinkiest girls around. The thing which I think makes geek girls so hot is that they're genuinely in to all the stuff I am. I don't have to make them watch Serenity or Watchmen because they already have 25 times and want to again, they want to go to the comic shop to get there comics, they want to go to conventions with you and buy the latest collectible, they never think you playing games (either computer or D+D) is dumb because they play them too. In short there is nothing more sexy then a girl who really shares your interests and can teach you something new about the things you love. This is also why gills who pretend to be geeks just aren't hot.

Are you sure it's not the t-shirt? Cause they generally look better in Star Wars t-shirts than I do...

I like this post. It made me feel really, really good about myself! Love and hugs! xx "Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened." - Dr Seuss.

I think it's because they are smarter than me. There is nothing quite like having someone explain string theory to you whilst you stare at their boobies. I am AWESOME!

It's something to do with the fact that when I call from work at 8pm and explain why I'm not going to be home until the early hours of the morning, they actually understand why. Also, they don't need to ask me to fix their computer (which is nice).

Excellent post from the OP - I completely agree with it. I actually worry about meeting someone I really like who then turns out to want to change those bits of me I'm not happy to (such as my hobbies and interests). I'd love to have someone to share my evenings and weekends with but I wouldn't want to have to give up my geekishness just to be with someone with no similar interests.

I'm not sure (for me) the attraction is so much that geek girls do get any particular geek stuff (since anybody could say, I'm into X, and people who share my interest in X are attractive to me) as that they can understand (and the same works in reverse): a geek whose style of geekdom gives her largely different obsessions from mine will still have a shared understanding of what it is to have that kind of interest. Maybe one of you speaks Quenya and the other knows only Tsolyáni (so to speak), but you still have the shared background grasp of what it means to take the plunge and why it drives you both. And a girl with driving fire in her intellect is enrapturing. Of course we're crazy sometimes; of course we're silly lots of the time. How else could we endure living in this world and keep some sanity? Go out on the Earth at night, just look upwards and you see the Universe! Edited 10 Aug 10, 11:01 AM by Eleuther |
