http://www.guardian.co.uk/society/2010/aug/06/lo... Just to clarify. Prostitution is NOT illegal. These women, apart from the two working together, are not breaking any laws. Even if every single woman was done for soliciting (cards in phone boxes) is printing their full names and DOB really acceptable? It may be that the police are lazily going for the more obvious and vulnerable working women or they may decide to go for Pro Dommes too.

Disgraceful. Far from protecting the public (sex workers included), the publication of these details makes those already forced into tight corners even more vulnerable and susceptible to abuse, bribery and attack. God help the police in certain areas if their details were so readily available.. Liza Edited 7 Aug 10, 10:53 AM by DominaLiza

I agree wholeheartedly. The word 'bullying' springs to mind.

Sounds like the plod are trying to Disneyfy London ahead of the Olympics. Make it all squeaky clean and family friendly. Oh joy. Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: Why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: Why not marry safe science if you love it so much.

"NOT illegal" is that a double negative not illegal means is legal ?
also - I would have thought the data protection act would apply here, how can the police publish your name if you havent been found guilty ? , maybe I've missed something Edited 10 Aug 10, 12:47 AM by pantsdown5

That is right. Prostitution is legal. Many people assume it is illegal.

Neither the police nor the press have ever let the words 'reasonable' nor 'honest' nor 'facts' nor 'innocent' get in the way of what they want to do in the least. If they can tag the word 'sex' onto it they feel they can do and spew whatever shit they want. Absolutly fuckin' discusting. They destroy the reputation of those women without a regret or second thought, all be it aided with the dirty leaps the average vanilla mind.

Is this not a breach of the DPA? And all men kill the thing they love, By all let this be heard, Some do it with a bitter look, Some with a flattering word, The coward does it with a kiss, The brave man with a sword! |
