It has to be the most labourious and arm knackering thing for me to make, but my god the smell and the taste makes it all worth it.
I cooked a ham the other day, and so i dont waste any i sliced it all up today, of course that meant that there were lots of little bits left over. That together with some left over chicken, a couple of sausages and burgers and loads of other bits and bobs, i.e. bread, chutney, onion, garlic, tomato sauce, worcestershire sauce and a load of herbs. Finally an egg to bind and then a couple of hours in the oven.
Result? a smell to die for permeating throughout the house, a taste of heaven from the tiny part i took to test it and the prospect of a fantastic meal during the week.
Yes i know another cooking blog, but to be honest i hardly get to keep anything i eat nowadays, so i have to take my food pleasure wherever i can.
The only drawback is Master loves meatloaf and chopping all that meat and bread etc by hand/knife seems to take a lifetime. But it sure is a grand way to make use of leftovers ![]()
be well and be happy

im so glad that it has inspired you. The only problem with going at it ad hoc as it were is that its virtually impossible to recreate it again. At least a recipe brings it out the same each time. But boy the flavour is worth the experiment believe me The bottom half of GC INC

Sadly that shall have to remain a fantasy simply on account of Meat Loaf the singer is a veggie. Even as a veggie myself I'm not sure a soya-meat loaf has the same ring to it, nor will it taste anything like what you described.
It certainly sounds like you've whetted the appetite of several IC'ers with this blog

For Meatloaf i would make a veggie version taste as good - quorn is pretty good and is very adaptable. But failing a meatloaf i am sure that i could find another culinary delight to tempt him The bottom half of GC INC
