Hey kinksters, I just wanted to thank everyone who came to StripLite on Friday for making it an absolutely awesome night.
The cupcakes (as always) went down a storm and all the comedians ended up overunning as you guys just wouldn't let them off stage! We also had brilliant performances from Crimson Skye and 'The Immortal Bellydancer'. There were, however, a couple of issues with the venue that I wanted to talk about and let you all know what we are doing to resolve them. A lot of customers felt as though the security were far too thorough and, once I'd found out that they were going through peoples' pockets and wallets before letting them in, I have to say I 100% agree. In addition to this, some of you felt that the bar staff were a bit unfriendly. As many of you know, we pride ourselves on events that are fun and friendly kink. We will not tollerate the sort of hostility that some of our guests experienced on Friday and, with that in mind, I am making the very tough decision to move venue - effective immediately. Avalon is a great looking venue for all things kink and, as you all know, the kink crowd are some of the friendliest clubbers and event-goers there are. There is simply no need for the venue to be aggressive or hostile in any way. It's a great, great shame that I found an amazing space yet the venue's attitude to its customers leaves a lot to be desired. So, StripLite will be back on Friday August 27th but, right now, I'm looking hard for another venue to house all you lovely, lovely people. I ask you to keep 27th August in your diary for the next StripLite, where where we will again bring you the best in Comedy; Cabaret & Kink - with, of course, the now famous cupcakes! To anyone who felt the venue offended you in any way, I am deeply sorry and I promise you it will not happen again.
So, onwards and upwards! Love and licks, David de Vynel.x

Hi, if you are changing venue it may also be worth changing off the last friday as it always clashes with the London munch which is a popular even attracting over 150 people. Sounds like a night I would enjoy but with it clashing it's unlikely I will get there. David London Alternative Market - the place to be on the first Sunday of the month

Yeah, there's ALWAYS the problem of clashing. In an ideal world, I'd find somewhere close to Munch that had a very late license, so everyone could come down afterwards - that would be ideal. It's looking like Aug will be a one-off special venue and then we'll get a permanent home lined up for Sept. That's how things are shaping up right now.

Okay folks, just to let you know that after a long weekend of working on the August event, I've lined up a real treat for all you kinksters...
An August Bank Holiday kink special starting 7:30pm on Sunday 29th August @ Underbelly on Hoxton Square until 6am the following day!
More details to come soon but, in the meantime, put the 29th in your diary for the best in Comedy; Cabaret & Kink (with, of course, the cupcakes!). DdV.x |
