I'll be interested to hear how you got on. When I last ordered something from the 'States' I had to pay the courier company a 'standard' £35 fee, on top of the shipping costs, for paying customs the duty. Pah! John the Vicar

Due to what has been suggested I doubt this device will ever be available here. My advice is forget trying to find it and look for similar device.

After talk of the 'drought' I successfully purchased a second one of these from the same place as before:-

It took 17 days and came via USPS (united states postal service) and arrived on Thursday. There was no customs charge. If goods come via postal service instead of courier they are usually much slower but there is a very good chance of not having to pay any customs. They never charge on imports below £18. If it comes courier there is always a fee to pay unless the item is zero rated both for duty and vat e.g. books. the seller tells me he does not have any more but there are a few advertised on ebay in USA
My Hitachi comes with a Vibratex guarantee and the instructions say imported by Vibratex (but thats into USA) Of course the battery one will comply with eu rules more easily as it is not connected to the mains. Now I am waiting for this to arrive http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&... Edited 20 Sep 10, 3:21 PM by rupert_bare

Probably too late now, but for future reference, I'm told Ikea sell similar transformers at a reasonable price.

Hi,
these transformers are available from maplins, i think they also do a bigger heavy dutier version that is perfect for more long term play.
The smaller ones do tend to get quite hot with heavy use, i suggest you keep an eye on it if playing for a prolonged session The Rubber Luv Team

I did see that one... but found myself wondering... if the hitachi was still for sale in the uk (although it is if you look hard enough in my experience) would they realy be claiming this one was better? Also because its rechargeable i couldn't help but think about the rechargeable garden strimmer i once bought..so much less power than a plug in...
Still be good to hear any feedback for this easy travel type version..
