The pitfalls of posting on online forums:

That strangers think they know you and make assumptions about you and your relationships.
That people read too much into passing comments or academic discussions.
That there is a record of the feelings you feel and the place you are at - which could be difficult to read further down the line.
That people take a general interest question as something that is directly affecting you at that time.
That people think you are talking about / to them personally.
That everyone get too hung up on what is written here.
That everyone can see how crap my typing is...

Very true:

Another is that people become reliant on all this cyber bullshit and forget that life is about interaction with real people with real feelings and emotions, instead can hide behind this screen.
