A post of curiosity: as a dominant man, what do you like to wear? Or as someone who plays with dominant men, what do you like to see them wear?
I prefer boots and suits - waistcoats, ties, belts and so on. The odd bow-tie, perhaps a spot of tweed (the jury's still out on that one). I feel far more comfortable in cotton and co., rather than latex, rubber or the like.
So, what's in your wardrobe, aside from a skeleton or two? Do you have a particular outfit that you prefer when playing that differs from things you wear at events?
Or do you think clothes have no bearing on the proceedings?

You know not what you start.... Just ignore all the helpful suggestions about leather waistcoats that are now bound to follow!!! "The art of being a Gentleman is knowing when not to be"

I'm roundly of the opinion that the clothes do not, in fact, make the man - I'm the same sadistic bastard in my besuited finery as I am in jeans, naked or even (chances are) in a fucking dress. The reason I gravitate towards suits is because I'm told a) I look older than I am and, as I've said before, I need all the years I can get, and b) I look good. "Dashing", "debonaire" and "hot" are three of the adjectives a collection of women with off-kilter ideas on what constitutes hotness have used. Summary: Suits = good. Oh, well, that's easy. Tucker's Law: If some cunt can fuck something up, that cunt will pick the worst possible time to fucking fuck it up because that cunt's a cunt. I've got that embroidered on a teatowel at home.

I prefer My clean cut shirt n tie, suit look....but often transcend into smart casual for those that need to be guided around public places and NOT look as though they are under close arrest...........although one or two of My clients prefer that look....and experience of others watching hehehehe

As a sub I have to say I'm not so into the leather waistcoat look <grin> A nice suit, all black or (be still my beating... well, it's not my heart) combat gear with big black boots...
As far as I'm concerned the best dressed Doms come with rope accessories x ps - I'm allowed to post here, right?

At a club, I prefer a dom in leather for sure, as long as it doesn't include the dreaded leather waistcoat. But skintight leather jeans tucked into riding boots are very sexy. Up top, a ruffle shirt or a leather one is hot too. Not t-shirts. But I also like uniforms, black tie, or something else that goes beyond the leather waistcoat cliche. I don't like latex- that's a personal preference.
This is very true. A good dom can dom regardless of how he is dressed. And for private play, I have no preference, whether it's a suit, a uniform, leather, nudity or whatever. Aut disce aut discede. Manet sors tertia caedi

In real-life, it is classical suit and tie for work. English tailoring, of course. Otherwise, very casual and laidback in jeans etc. Very antipodean. For clubs either leather, or combats seem to do the trick.
I agree with grasshopper's view above, and am the same cruel sadistic bastard what ever I happen to be wearing. "I am from nowhere and everywhere" Karl Lagerfeld Edited 23 Jul 10, 8:07 AM by Outlier

as for the waistcoat, mainly I wear one when DM'ing cos the extra pockets are useful for keeping scissors/torch/wipes and various other things to hand that I might need quickly You may call me the Devil but remember this, every Demon in hell was once beloved of God.

Which is why it forms part of your ensemble called "The Working Blacks" lol Personally I agree with the comments about clothes do not matter ... When someone can reduce you to a gibbering wreck in their Jim-Jams you know you are on to a winner <ewg> However I must admit I do like the "fop look" of ruffles, waist-coats and dress coats :: licks lips ::
