Anyone interested in re-starting Gloucester munch (6)

Find a good location. First place to start is your local (if you have one). Wander past every night, any pub that normally has three or four punters in on a weekday night will be grateful for the trade.

Approach the publican, and tell them what you intend. Profit motive is a wonderful thing, use it. If they throw a fit at your suggestion, go somewhere else. If you don't tell them, they may well object to a bunch of perverts using their establishment. Saves having to start again if they decide to throw you out.

Ask your friends, ask everyone. Not only on here, but locally on Fetlife.

Get it all sorted out, advertise it well, turn up at the pub. Get a few people turn up, you have your munch. No-one turns up, have a beer and go home.

The gloucester munch i ran was held on the 4th tuesday of the month, and i think it at the time used to be on the same night as cardiff munch.

i wouldnt try and start one up without having atleast one female co-host, i found that during the time i was doing the munch hostin on my own i could only count on the regular old guard turning up most months. I did get feed back saying females were not comfitable attending without knowing that atleast one other female was going to be there.

Much was said on bdsmSouthwest group at the time, lots of chat, no action etc As someone else has said, you set a place time and date to suit yourself, then you advertise it, and see who turns up. This is exactly what I did with the Bath munch

So much chat and so little action was taking place before the original cheltenham munch started, that 2 of us just decided to start it, with the result that 2 others started it first LOL so we let them.

You never know who will turn up, or how often, but my advice would be, just start it, when it was in cheltenham at the weatherspoons, it was a noisy pub, but it always had a large crowd attending, there was never less than 10 all the times I went

When Katalena ran it as a combined munch, it was excellent, with always quite a few turning up

Only went once to the Glos one when Lucifer_Morningstar ran them, and it was a quiet night, but still several there.

I know I sound harsh etc, but it can be talked about till christmas , there is no substitute to just starting one and seeing what happens
