Master told me this evening that he received a phone call today that left him shaking with anger.
It seems that a lady (and i use the term loosely) with a distinct asian accent called him and told him that i had been involved in an accident.
She refused to say who she was or the company that she represented. Luckily Master knew that i was safe and had not been involved in an accident.
He did do the 1471 ringback thing but all he got was the usual 'you were called' stuff.
i know that i have blogged long and hard on the subject of unwanted telemarketing calls in the past, but this firm, whoever they are must surely be the worst.
To scare someone into thinking that someone they love has been involved in an accident is the lowest of the low.
All i can say is that i hope the next person they do it to manages to get more information from them that will enable them to get them stopped.
be well and be happy

Does leave one wondering where the greed and stupidity will end. Sounds like a get your money and keep it all accident type company. If you want parity with me, grow a cunt and play with yourself. One day this will all be a blur much like the arses that think they matter. Badly done sub, very badly done, indeed.

Did they mention you by name ? Did they know Master's name ? I've had a few calls where the perpetrator refers to either me or my wife as though they know us, but when challenged to name names, they are unable to do so. It's a totally unacceptable tactic and if the system had any teeth, such abuses would be banned, but slimy companies are able to get away with it. There is a lot to be said for enabling caller ID ( it's free with BT ) and using a phone that displays the caller's number. If a number is withheld, you can adopt a more sceptical tone from the outset.

Big hugs to you both. Have you complained to the phone company? It might be demanding money with menaces. There must be some law against it

Yes Kinky they did know my name and referred to me by name. Though they did get my marital status wrong. The bottom half of GC INC

No point in complaining there i would have thought Iona, we dont know the name of the company that called, and i doubt if they would consider tracing a single call. The bottom half of GC INC

Still worth letting the police know though, it sounds like some pretty low life type of fraud, and really is something they should be made aware of. XxX
