On that day, Dutch international footballer, Dirk Kuyt will be 25. Journalist and human rights activist, Lauren Booth 42 and American actor Danny Glover will be 64. On that same day, will be the first of four days of the Merchant City Festival 2010. As usual, on every fourth Thursday of each month right in the heart of Glasgow's City Centre district, the all-inclusive Glasgow's Thursday Munch will take place from 8.00pm till midnight at the flagship Glasgow renaissance style J D Wetherspoon bar and restaurant. The venue is The Counting House. There is two entrances. If you enter through 2 St. Vincent Place G1 2DH. Head towards the nearest corner room on your very right. If you enter through 24 George Square (West). Head towards the nearest corner room on your very left. We meet in the corner room which has a very big painting of Mary of Scots looking out to George Square on one side and St. Vincent Place on the other side.
The nearest Central Glasgow subway and principal train stations are Buchanan and Queen Street respectively. Both stations are right next to each other and only walking distance to our munch. If you cannot be bothered walking from Central Station - there is a First Glasgow bus no.398 from Gordon Street bus stop which will take you to Queen Street Station. Parking spaces near the venue, in and around George Square should become more freely available after we move away from the evening rush hour and may depend how busy City Centre late night shopping will be. Click on these links for the latest news of any disruptions, hopefully not, on the roads and on the trains. Hot food and hot drinks will be served until 10.00pm and 11.00pm respectively. Soft drinks and alcohol will be served until near closing time. No one is in charge of this wonderful munch. We do encourage everyone whether you are a newbie, oldie, single or attached to try and make an evening of lighthearted, good humoured fun and friendship for everyone. We also encourage everyone to go to any clubs or munches of their choice throughout the UK. Please everyone do have a nice time at the Glasgow's Thursday Munch!

While hardware problems are possible, most likely it is infested with something. Anti-Virus software is pretty crap on the whole, more like a seat belt in a car, it saves you some of the time, but not 50mph in to a tree... Is there anything valuable on it (documents, photos, emails + address lists, etc) or just used for surfing?

My PC has been runnign like a Dog for the last couple of days, I think the main reason is Vista is undergoing a bunch of updates. These seem to hog bandwidth (expensive on a dongle) and processor power. IF you have access to a decent connection (WiFi or plug into a router / modem) I would suggest doing that and spend a while logged in and then switching off to allow it to update. You may need to update it. But then again, I could be talking shite... Regards Sp Edited to say that I probably won't be at the munch Edited 19 Jul 10, 10:01 PM by simplepleasure | |

Munches are usually quite friendly, typically there will be one or two folk who are willing to proactive engage with a new person who turns up and make them feel at home. I am sure you will enjoy it!
