Basicly I have noticed that many many people on here (all tops of some descriptions) ask or even demand these Tributes, What I want to know is firstly why someone people ask and some don't

What kind of gifts are they, and how much do people put into them. & Any other snipits of info that people have experience or no experience

Also is it heard of that Male can demand tributes, or is it a specific thing only Women can do as a reversal from the typical patriarchal society where men traditionally are dominant?

The people who tend to ask for tributes are usually pro dommes/subs/switches and yes there are the odd male pro dom too in the world.

Usually money, but others who don't domme professionally but are putting their time n effort in may ask for a gift, usually chocolates, flowers, perfume, wine for ladies.

Pro submissive & switch with great dungeon & LOTS of toys!

Unless they are pro and say so on their profile then I wouldn't expect anyone to demand a tribute, this isn't collarme.

If you're approached by someone on this site who isn't displaying the green pound sign on their profile and they demand a tribute from you let admin know.

I think anyone demanding a tribute before being prepared to meet in any way should be treated with a certain amount of caution and suspicion.

I've no wish to go to any pro Dom/me, but I'd recommend anyone who did to do your market research thoroughly and go off recommendations.

I think it would be fair to say, particularly with other sites that there are a lot of people who simply want to take your money.

There are pro Dom/mes who are good people and I know that through meeting and talking with them at munches and clubs.

Ditto to both comments but there are a few in here who have come close to changing my mind.

I certainly wouldn't ask for or demand any kind of tribute whether financial or in gift form.

I would agree with those that say to be cautious of who, what and how.

Ultimately you will decide if that is the way forward for you. I am sure there are those out there both sub/dom/domme and male/female that this works for.

Sometimes subbies bring me presents, but that is their idea and not mine, I have certainly never asked.

Sometimes a subbie will buy me something for my toy box, which is really kind because my pockets are not a bottomless pit of cash.

I think it would be nice to get cards sometimes -- birthdays, christmas -- as that makes me feel appreciated!

From here? They must have the £ sign next to their names.

Theoretically, it is used to prove sincerity and get rid of timewasters. Over the past 10 years, I have (jokingly) tried it a couple times and it never worked. (oh, I feel so unloved!)

Some people just ask for anything which is a token gesture - a pair of stockings, or chocolates, or putting up a wishlist somewhere and the subbie can choose what they like.

*laughs* Are you wanting tributes? Well, if you send them the same photo you sent me when you were just starting out, I'll bet that they do! That was just *scary*. *grin*

I don't think it is that hard to understand. The green £ sign denotes that, that person is a professional regardless of gender or orientation ie Top/Bottom/switch and expects payment if you wish to see them in a professional capacity. Their website and email address is normally on their profile. A lot of professionals also have a lifestyle profile as well. I have been a professional for many years and do not display a £ sign because I do not advertise on IC and certainly have never "demanded" money or any other kind of fee via the back door.

As someone else has already pointed out, should you contact anyone on IC and they ask for money/gifts etc as a prerequisite of seeing/playing with you and they do not have a £ sign then you should make Admin aware.
