As many of you will know, the STudio, home to the West London Munch -and many other great events-, will be closing it's doors at the end of July. So the WLM on 09th July will be our last at the venue and then we are homeless.
The WLM crew have been having a good search to see if we can find a new venue of a similar style to hold our event, and the outcome is not positive. We've looked at a lot of pubs to find somewhere that has a private room we can book, so at least we have some privacy and can get away with fetish dress and very subtle play, and sadly anything ½ way decent is either not available on a Friday night, or tends to have some charges involved (room hire charge or very high minimum bar spend that I don't think we'll meet) or doesn't have good public transport links and have poor parking facilities. (Yes I know I'm picky, but it's my money being paid out) If anyone knows of any venues they think might be suitable (and cheap) in the west London area, please feel free to let us know. So my question is this: If we do go ahead and book a room at a pub somewhere, to continue the munch on a different level are people going to support it? Or do we retire the munch until the time when we can find a venue to run something in the same vein as we do now? And before anyone starts up in arms accusing me of slating 'regular' munches, don't bother, because I'm not trying to do that. I like munches in pubs, and I frequent them, but the simple fact is, the WLM was different. Edited to add: There are 3 pubs i'm looking at seriously, 1 is in Shepherds bush, 1 is Shepherds Bush/West Kensington and the 3rd is in Acton. Abstinence doesn't equal safe play.... knowledge does.

What about not-a-pub-venue? There has to be "Village hall" type rooms, some Restaurants have "Banqueting" rooms that are of a good size, or even Hotel Conferencing? Heck, I know where there is a Village Hall in Nunhead, but that's not going to help here. What that does say though is that in the 'burbs, that sort of venue is there if you look. Either way though, WLM has to continue in some format, it fills a good niche and is a damn fine get-together. Power is of two kinds. One is obtained by the fear of punishment and the other by acts of love. Power based on love is a thousand times more effective & permanent then the one derived from fear of punishment

You could always ask on a site like gumtree or craiglist for a venue suitable enough. Meddle Not In The Affairs Of Dragons For You Are Crunchy And Taste Good With Ketchup!

I posted this reply on the other thread but here it is again! Acton ...have just moved out from there... is it the King's Head on the High Street you were thinking of? How about the Trinity in Harrow on the Hill? Its a small ,alternative pub but does have some space upstairs , although having said that , think they may have some club nights on fridays... maybe worth a look?

How about some sort of hall where we can have a Femdom Tea party..? N1 sub guy seeks Lady in the vicinity. Why do people reply to online things, just to be rude or negative?

Oh put a sock in it, you keep banging on about this, if you're so set on it then organise it yourself and stop littering other threads with your nonsense. Unless you have something useful to contribute specifically about the west London munch, I suggest you keep quiet. "Have people always been this angry? *applause* I've always liked the West London Munch, and i would always go to the new one if it was a similar driving distance. i wouldnt say there are a glut of london based munches, the only london munch i personally go regularly to is the U35 Midweek one, which i meet and greet at, the rest are only semi regularly, so i would say if nothing else than for the variety of choice keep it going. also, the only munch i've been to that i can think of that hosts similar people is the London Munch, and even then there are only about half to a third of the regulars of WLM that go to the LM. so keeping it would be amazing, i just wish i could help with finding a venue!

A bit harsh, I would say Miss Hardy. Most people on here have an agenda of some sort, if 2010 chooses to articulate himself where applicable that seems fair to me. After all, we were all ''newbies'' once.

It's not about him being a newbie, it's about him purposely littering others peoples threads with his whinging requests for a femdom tea party. He either needs to put up or shut up. Anyway back to the thread, I've never been to the WLM, partly because West London is miles away from me but I think it would be greatly missed if it were gone. Whilst a good venue is important it's always the people that make the munch for me. "Have people always been this angry? Would love for WLM to continue, in a west/north-west-ish location if possible. |
