Books, Blogs and Blabbing (29)

Various people have suggested I do a dominatrix blog, and I've been toying with the idea for a while. Mulling it over... I've looked at quite a few pro-domme blogs, and I've been a bit horrified at the personal detail they go in to.

It's a no.

The people I play with deserve honour and respect. The recent revelations in the press re a recently deceased millionaire show that you don't even have to name names, people can find out once you've put it in the public domain, regardless of which media used (book in this instance).

In a a professional session integrity is integrity. People have not just brought your time, they've also brought your discretion.

There are plenty of non-pro things to blog about - and consenting partners.

On all the threads about The Secret Diary Of A Call Girl, I don't recall reading anyone asking how ethical her book was. Even without naming who the guy you shoved a water melon up, it would be a breach of privacy.

So are probably all other autobiographies. Privacy would only be an issue legally if someone was able to identify themselves and it would be clear to others who the person was.

A bigger issue to be worried about would be defamation. Same as privacy invasion from a legal POV but worse. Much worse.

From the blogger's POV, the single biggest worry would be being outed by the tabloid press. Zoe Margolis (Girl with a One Track Mind) was ruthlessly hunted down for several years despite taking every precaution to protect her identity.

Belle de Jour was probably even more stringent about the precautions she took but even she had to out herself in the end to prevent her ex doing it for her for cash. At least she had some control over her own outing and came out of it with her reputation intact.

The problem with writing a successful anonymous sex blog is that the red tops will always stop at nothing to find out who's behind it. And if they out you, your life will never be your own again. Probably best not to do it. (Or at least if you do, do it knowing what the risks are.)

I used to write a blog and I used to reveal quite a lot of session detail. The subs loved it. They looked forward to the next instalment hoping it was about them. Talking about a session isn't indiscreet, as long as identifying factors are left out.

Subs are often competitive attention seeking creatures who love the idea that other subs, worldwide, are jealous of them, albeit anonymously of course.

This could be the case with the blogs you have read.

I personally cannot find decent blogs written by dominant Women, whether professional dominatrices or just women in charge of relationships. They all seem to be written by men trying to get thier wife/partnet to dominate them.

i personally dont think its a breach of trust to blog about a session , like Lady Anna said, as long as you miss out any obvious distinguishing features!

If you do start one, i for one, would be an avid reader!

Would agree with Lady Anna here. It's fun to read about yourself in a PD's blogging.

And there are some excellent blogs about. I've especially liked Mistress Yin's writing, though there don't seem to have been many updates recently.

Mistress Nyx is very amusing.

Try. Just a little bit harder.

Personly speaking i would feel honoured to have my session details mentioned in a mistresses blog as long is it did not identify me.

Is this egotism normal in subs? Have to say I have zero envy of other peoples sessions.

Perhaps I ought to have a re-think and merge two of my professions together ....

I agree that some subs love the gory details being "published", and have no qualms about consensual blogging at all. But the fact remains, that a great deal of it simply isn't! I've written myself about play sessions, so I don't have an issue with that. But recently there have been incidences where the written-about party clearly hasn't consented. This led to me having a good lock round, and finding LOTS of blogs, books etc.
