Not that I'm getting excited or anything.

I'm pretty sure I've seen that episode of Columbo before. But Sundays tend to be crap for TV and it's only the detective shows that tend to be of any interest, with maybe the occasional film, if it hasn't been shown too many times recently.

I remember growing up and enjoying watching a different cowboy film every Sunday. It was John Wayne day. And if you'd seen the film before it was a good couple of years since then. Now you get a bunch of films shown a dozen times in a month, which is ok if you want to see it and it's not on at a convenient time, so you can catch it another day. But it end up with their only being about 40 different films a month and 35 of them will be crap and of the other five you've seen 1-5 of them several times already. Although there are some classic you can watch again and again. I enjoyed watching Chisum yesterday as it fits in with the Young Guns films. However I had to miss a big chunk of it for Dr Who.

Films should be scheduled much better, as it's not like there aren't plenty of good ones that are good to watch once or maybe twice a year. It's been years since I've seen The Crimson Pirate on TV, why aren't they showing that? And why do all the Predator films have to be on so late that I can't watch them? (although I do have them on DVD).

Now my Sundays tend to be watching cartoons in the morning, Phineas and Ferb being my Sunday favourite, the rest are a bit pants, especially that Scooby Doo crap. I like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, but repeating them over and over again like they are doing is bloody ridiculous.

Then there is a gap when there generally isn't anything on. However there will be Scrapheap Challenge, which I'm currently watching, but I've seen so many times it's getting silly, however not watched it for months. Normally I'm watching the detective type shows such as Ironside, Mission Impossible (not exactly detective), TJ Hooker and Monk. And then there might be Columbo and Poirot on later. After that Sundays tend to turn to televisual crap unless there is a film on.

However, tonight is the return of Top Gear. One of the few shows I go out of my way to watch. Dr Who was one of the others. I was going to try and add The IT Crowd to the list but it's on Channel 4 which is an easy channel to forget about, and last night it was too close to big brother and I didn't want to risk brain damage or my TV exploding. Might see if I can catch it tonight though. The only other show on my list is NCIS. There might be a few other shows, but they aren't on at the moment.

So I've gone from childhood tele-addict who had the Radio Times more or less memorised to, someone who only really watches a couple of shows a week. Not sure if I've changed that much, but the quality of TV has.

Bring back my childhood TV. Repeat the Dukes of Hazard, Airwolf, McGyver, The A-Team, Manimal, Automan, Streethawk, Tales of the Gold Monkey, and all that other good stuff, until you can make something just as good.

I have heard that there will be a marvellous gizmo in the shops shortly. I saw it on Tomorrow's World so look out for it in John Lewis. It's called a Betamax Video Recorder or something ..... hurrah for technology, I do love living in the 1970s!

I have freeview, so a few channels, and also a funky media centre gizmo (the joy of living with a techno wizard) which means I can play anything off the internet on the telly, or indeed anything from my hard drive.

And I still can't find anything that's grabbing me, this afternoon! Which is a bugger, as there's at least an hour of ironage to do.

My weekday telly viewing, whilst currently dwelling in a hotel, seems to be a never ending loop of QI, Mock the Week and Top Gear repeats on Dave. The same shows are even repeated on the same night. I'll be able to recite them all, soon...

I've only got one of them blue ray things, but it does play them DVD things and I do have over 450 films and shows. But I'm missing the way they used to show programs and films in the old days. Saturdays used to be sports days on ITV and BBC1 but there was films on BBC2 to make up for it. Then afterwards you'd get the nice action shows like the A-Team.

Everything just seems diluted these days.

The film is called 'Secretary' not 'The Secretary', there is no 'The' in the title, it's just 'SECRETARY'. ARRGGGHHHH!!!!!

My 'Freeview' box burnt out in January, as they do. This time I decided not to buy another. So don't watch tv at all now.......never been happier and since the digital switchover I've found I don't need to pay for tv license either. My life is so full that I only have time for about 3 hours on the web and that in 45 min sessions through the day.

Don't look at me for the answer, I'm too busy thinking up the questions

My life is so full that without me TV just being on the background I'd go Smiths and kill meself within a month. Either that or I'd end up reading every single post on IC and probably reply to each of them. Got close to that today and I had Columbo on at the time.

I need a nice cool reclining chair for reading in and then I can have music on in the background and read instead of watch TV.
