I have been having awful dreams now for some time, they all seem to have the same theme to them, although in different settings. The main points of the dreams are personal loss/ pain/betrayal and a very vicious black dog. The dreams of the dog have been happening over many years, sometimes i don't dream for months, then I dream every night. After talking to my mum, she remembers me having night terrors about a black dog in my young teens. I have looked at a lot of dream interpretation sites, and they don't really make much sense. I have had a few opinions from people, as to what/who the dog could represent, I have even tried "talking" to my dreams/the dog. I know that dreams are our minds way of dealing with things, but I have no idea what the dog dreams mean. If anyone has any thoughts or ideas please drop me a memo.. I am tired of being tired..thanks..

There is a technique called lucid dreaming (try google). I worked it out for myself as a kid. I had a recurring dream that I was being chased by fire along a path. Tried running away, but it was like running through treacle, and the fire was catching me up. One night I thought this is bollocks, so stopped running, and walked away from the flames. Never had that dream again.
More recently I have woken from a dream where I was involved in a fight, and about to die. I just think 'Sod that, I'm going back with a gun!' (think Matrix). It works for me! Think about your choice of weaponry to deal with the dog. It may well be with you during your next encounter. Would be interested to find out how you get on. The trouble in some of my dreams is that I do fight back and end up kicking out at anything and everything in my sleep. Just as well I sleep alone 'Kiss the boot of shiny, shiny leather' - Velvet Underground |
