I must say this news story does make me wonder at what point, although it was obviously consensual, that UV does bear the risk of serious ill effects.
Do we just take it as an acknowledged risk and carry on, perhaps classing it alongside the viagra fuelled gent dying of heart attack mid-session in a vanilla encounter or does the involvement of sexual violence make it different?

I'm pretty sure no one in the UV group would do anything risky. And all men kill the thing they love, By all let this be heard, Some do it with a bitter look, Some with a flattering word, The coward does it with a kiss, The brave man with a sword!

I stared into the abyss, the abyss stared into me. It blinked first.

There are risks in everything. For instance: I spend a great deal of time cycling, I've been knocked off, run over and fallen off for various reasons over the last few years, I've even been at events where TT riders have been killed in traffic yet I still do it along with countless others because at the end of the day I love it and the enjoyment I get far outways the risks. Its no different to kink.....just a tad more socially acceptable at times :p I suspect life would be rather dull if we attempted to avoid all risk. Edited 25 Jun 10, 11:57 PM by Drifting
