Just thought I'd list a few movies I saw when I was younger that had some bondage themes ....

One 30s horror classic that I really think deserves a mention :- 'The Black Cat' with Karloff & Lugosi. It has myriad BDSM elements. Which makes it a strange, fascinating & uncomfortable film. It doesn't even bother to hide these themes, even in the 1930s they must have reccognized these elements. It surprises me that it passed any sort of censorship of the time. Watch & enjoy. | ||

Don't forget "The Enema Bandit" 1976 (based, incidentally on a real "criminal")

Until the Hays code came long (Wikipedia says 1934) Hollywood was surprisingly literate and wide ranging Nowadays, of course, they've shed the Hays code prissyness but not the dumbing down that came with it. Film noir probably deserves an honourable mention, as it allows the director to hint at all kinds of stuff taking place off screen. And I'd second the vote for King Kong. Ms Wray does an excellent job of acting both fake terror and genuine terror.... | ||
