For all you ladies who dye your hair at home and despair of the dye on your hairline ..try using perming lotion to get the dye off the skin..

You can try a layer of vaseline round the hairline before dyeing. It forms a barrier.

I find oil based eye make up remover works, or a hot shower..

Try acetone (nail polish remover) or ash.

There are also specialist products available ... you can probably get them at branches of Sally's.

A much milder way of removing hair dye from the hairline - so long as you do it at the time of applying hair dye - not several hours later, is to use balls of cotton wool dipped in milk. It is particularly gentle but effective for red hair dyes but I also used it in the past on blue-black hair dye. Far easier on the skin than hydrogen peroxide :)

These days I also have Lush's: Ultra Bland at the ready whenever I do my roots: place a thin layer of it around the hairline and the tops of your ears to make a preventative barrier, but should you spill hair dye onto skin, the Ultra Bland is very gentle but effective at removing hair dye.

If you take some cotton wool balsand put a LITTLE shampoo on them before you start dyeing hair, you can remove any drips or excesses with no problem. It is safer than most chemicals and will not leave a redness afterwards

Ask and you shall receive. Then don't complain to me --- you asked
