It must be time for me to raise a glass of Nozz-a-La and drive off into the sunset in my Takuro Spirit, for I have reached the clearing at the end of the path!
I refer, of course, (for the benefit of those who haven't come across it) to Stephen King's 'Dark Tower' series, which I have just finished reading.
Now I always get a little bit of post-book blues after finishing a good story, but I feel like I've been reading this particular seven-volume epic for so long that it's become part of the family, and I think it's going to leave a bit more of a gap than usual. I'm going to miss Roland and his 'ka-tet'!
So, the question is - what the hell do I read next? I could read a bit more King, but I think I should probably have a break from him for now. Possibly a bit of Pratchett? Or, filing all else, I could just start spending more time on IC again, reading about how rude people can be in memos, and how the scene ain't what it used to be in the good old days.
Choices, choices!
Now where did I leave my shooting irons?

I felt the same after reading David Eddings' The Belgariad. But then The Mallorean came out, and I felt the same after finishing that. Then the other books came out and so on. And I've been watching Firefly this past week and I get a similar feeling at the end of that, but with added pissedoffness at Fox for cancelling what is the best Sci-Fi show I've ever seen. I always behave. I just don't specify how.

Have you tried Michael Marshall Smith? ...It seemed like a good idea at the time...

Nope - might give him a try though. He sounds like an interesting chap. Thank you!
That's a good idea, especially as you lent it to me ages ago.
