I have noticed a growing number of Dommes seeking tribute especially on '' that other site CM'' though they claim it to be a one off payment to ensure the sub is genuine...the joys of Paypal eh! what do people think...... is that a fair deal or as a sub does that immediately put you off? as a Domme/Dom do you think thats a fair deal?

can you explain what you mean by "tribute", "paypal" genuine etc? If you go to see a pro domme then of course you must pay (they have they overhead you know). anybody else should be happy with a cup of coffee (if you feel so inclined).

Im talking about non pro's who ask for a one off tribute to ensure the sub is genuine and paypal seems to be the favoured payment method, is this a fair deal?

To me that sounds rather more like prostitution..but in reverse. You pay me and i'll do what you want TO YOU rather than you doing it to me. If they're PRO..you pay..if they're not..then they don't get money. If they don't believe that the sub is genuine then why would they even bother considering a meet? Unless of course THEY have no intention of meeting and just want the dosh up front. Sorry but to me it sounds a bit iffy..but then i'm not domme...so have no idea how they work these things out. I know plenty dommes who wouldn't consider taking money..so maybe you're just talking to the wrong ones..shop around a bit hun. jules.x

It's all the fault of that clever Microsoft guy who came up with those Ctrl X and Ctrl V thingies. Without those the female, domme or sub, could guage from the time and trouble taken by the memo or email writer that they were probably genuine and not timewasters. Now, thanks to cut and paste however no such assurance can necessarily be guaged. So on the face of it an appropriate modest financial pre-payment might seem a sensible and understandable alternative as evidence of intent. Having said that, I suspect you have to be prepared to accept that the vast majority asking for such a paypal transfer have a very different motive. Chances are the CM profile is a front for a part-time business. The rest of the time the writer is the widow of some chief exec. at a Nigerian Bank who happens to have a few million in some bank account but has no means of getting hold of it. Care to help?

Whatever happened to meeting up, and ... y'know ... talking? Seems pretty simple to me. Unless I'm specifically seeking a pro, as soon as money enters the equation, it rings some serious alarm bells. If someone were to ask me for money as a test of my seriousness, that particular conversation would come to a very swift conclusion. ~Twistee~ Everything is better with a twist

They ought to reimbuse the money once they 'know' the sub is 'genuine'. I don't need to ask whether they do or not. If you ask for money in return for a service, whether it's gardening, office work, writing back to memos or actually dominating someone in the flesh, you are 'professional'. To try to claim otherwise is dishonest and no one should send money out into the ether to such a person. |
